Berkeley Cub Scouts learn about bikes

Spent an evening getting to know the boys of Berkeley Cub Scouts Pack 30, Den 4 last night.  The Missing Link hosted the kids at our repair shop for a demonstration on basic bicycle maintenance, including flat tire repair.  I'm a father myself and we're definitely a cycling family.  My kids spent a lot of time at the Missing Link when they were younger, where their mom works, too!  We've both been active in working with schools and other organizations, like the Cub Scouts, to get more kids on bikes by giving them the skills they need and creating a safer environment for them to ride.  Anyway, the kids last night were great.  They seemed really interested and I think they learned a lot - although since they ARE ten-year-old boys, there was a certain amount of snickering (for example, every time I said the word "nut"!).
