We are currently accepting resumes for a member candidate position. Bicycle retail, wholesale, or repair experience and an interest in cooperatives is strongly preferred. The Link is a democratic workplace in which all members are paid an equal wage and have equal status.

We are looking for someone who is interested in the responsibility of collectively running a business (previous experience in cooperatives and/or other relevant business skills is a plus). We look for candidates who are friendly and forthright, emotionally equipped to do sales in a busy environment, and who can make at least a one year commitment (after membership is granted).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Selling bicycles, parts, and accessories
Performing cashier transactions on Point of Sale system
Restocking inventory
Sharing cleaning duties
Preparing bicycle repair estimates
Performing tune-ups and repairs
Assembling new bicycles
Attending collective meetings and participating in decision-making (if you become a member)
Performing other duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
Love of bicycles and the people who ride them
Enthusiasm for sales
Technical and mechanical knowledge of bicycles and bicycle products
Ability to communicate effectively with customers from different backgrounds
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to perform repairs and complete bicycle assembly
Experience with POS systems and other computer applications
Able to function effectively and efficiently in a busy work environment
Desire for the responsibilities of business ownership
Must be able to commit to working a minimum of 25 hours a week including one weekend day

If you are offered a position, you will be a member candidate until you have completed 360 hours of work, and will be considered for membership in the cooperative after that. Compensation during candidacy is $14/hr.
