Who We Are

The Missing Link Bicycle Co-op has been a democratically managed bike shop for over 36 years. Located two blocks west of the UC Berkeley campus, we sell new bicycles, accessories, parts, clothing, and used bikes. We also repair bikes at our Repair Annex, across the street from our main store.

Employees: It's a good place to work, so we stay here a long time.....
25 years, or more, in some cases, so you'll see familiar faces in the store.

Sales: We're not on commission, so you won't ever be pushed into a sale. You'll also get a variety of opinions from different members, we hope, to steer you in the direction that best suits YOUR cycling needs.

Bikes: We know that a comfortable ride is what matters most, so we take the time to make sure that each bike we sell fits your needs and your body, and we have a Bicycle Exchange Policy to back it up!

Service: We own this business ourselves, so we take the time necessary in our assemblies and repairs to ensure careful and precise work which will make your bike perform better and last longer. We have a combined experience of over 250 years.

Cycling community: We sponsor the Missing Link Cyclocross team, and we offer discounts to members of many local clubs.

There's enough information here to fill up a nicely sized lunch break. As ever, let us know if there's something we can do for you.

...now let's go for a ride.

For those of you interested in how a collectively run business operates, there is now available a 28 minute video about 3 collectively run businesses--the Cheeseboard Bakery and Cheese shop, Rainbow Grocery, and Inkworks Press--all in the San Francisco Bay Area. Collectives often use the video to orient workers to their unique work philosophy. Here, the worker-owners of three successful businesses show what it's like to work collectively, manage a business and deal with problems in a truly democratic way. click for more info...
