All FREE for you OKAY! That's right, kids, it's time to start bike school again! This year marks our 30th year as a collective, and the 30th year we've offered this FREE lecture series! We'll tell you how to fix your whole bike from flat tires to the art of wheel building, and a bunch of fun stuff about touring and commuting, too! MONDAY, Oct. 6th-FLAT TIRES! Learn how to fix a flat, that most banal of bicycle repairs, yet one that will serve you well on your ride through life. We'll also cover basic bike care and maintenance. Big fun. TUESDAY, Oct. 14th-BRAKES! Your brakes are pretty important and it is a good idea to keep them in working order. Take this class and you will have the power of stopping at your fingertips. WEDNESDAY, Oct. 22nd-CRANKS, BOTTOM BRACKETS, HEADSETS! These are the rest of the members of the bearing family. Princples learned in the Hub class make this one a breeze. Attending this class will help keep things rolling, so to speak. MONDAY, Oct. 27th-HUBS! Without bearing systems your bicycle would just be immobile art. Learn how to adjust and overhaul your hubs and let "cup and cone" become your mantra. WEDNESDAY, Nov. 5th-FLAT TIRES #2 TUESDAY, Nov. 11th-GEARS! Bicycles are one of the most beautiful and efficient machines ever invented. Get in touch with your derailleurs, shifters, and cables. Unlock the mystery that is your drivetrain. WEDNESDAY, Nov.19th-WHEELS! Wheels are probably the least understood structure on the bicycle. We will toss around some theory, true a wheel and build a wheel from scratch. MONDAY, Nov. 24th-FLAT TIRES #3! WEDNESDAY, Dec. 3rd-COMMUTING Fun and practical THURSDAY, Dec. 11th-TOURING Tools, routes, campin'. MONDAY Dec. 15th-SUSPENSION! How do it boing? What is this suspension thing about anyway? We will go over the difference between air/oil and elastomer forks, look at the stem suspension systems and good 'ol wide puffy tires.
